We finally got a proper look at Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 with uncompromising gameplay revealing a trailer worthy of the Emperor himself.
What immediately sets Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 apart is how the title takes advantage of technological advancements between console generations. That’s because the first game originally dropped over a decade ago, so the violence is really great here.
The environmental design seems to have been greatly improved as well. We’ve never seen the Adeptus Astartes look this good, which is reflected in the gunplay and melee as the chunky boys cut off waves of orc scum. And yes, the Jump Packs are also triumphantly back!
This is just a small taste of what was revealed at The Game Awards 2022. We also saw Ken Levine’s Judas, as well as Death Stranding 2. It looks like 2023 is going to be really stacked.
Game trailer for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2
We’ve been waiting over a decade for the next chapter in the Space Marines story, and what we see in gameplay really doesn’t disappoint. There are also warhammers, jumping packs, swinging chainswords and orc corpses to wreak havoc as well!
The real emphasis from what we see here seems to be on the mobility of the Space Marines. Everything looks less rigged than in the first title, especially the one moment involving a chain ax and an orc’s upper body that ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Are you looking forward to meeting the hordes of the more expansive Warhammer 40,000 universe? You also have another choice in the form of Darktide, which is an equally ruthless first-person shooter.
