21 years old Counter Strike global offensive Professional gamer Ostap Onistrat, known to fans and fellow gamers as “0ni”, died fighting for Ukraine in the war against Russia.
Ministry of Defense tweeted in memory of Onistrat: “Another Ukrainian father has lost his son. Ukraine has lost a son. The loss is irreversible. Victory is inevitable. We all owe it to Ostap.”
Onistrat was killed by enemy shrapnel on June 3 while fighting on the front line near Wuledar in the Donetsk region. The area has seen particularly fierce fighting in recent times as Ukrainian forces push back Russian-occupied territory to regain lost lands.

The former professional CS:GO player joined the Ukrainian 68th Jaeger Brigade as a drone operator. The latest Reuters estimates say that 62,295 people were killed, 60,000 injured and 15,000 missing.
“A young Ukrainian CS player died during security [Ukraine] and each of us” said Sergei BezhanovCS:GO coach of the Ukrainian Monte Esports team.
According to Sportskeedthe last competitive tournament in which Onistrat participated was the ZUEL 2021 Championship. Ostap represented the Ukrainian team Libertatem, which eventually took second place in the competition.
